From Soldiers to Friends: Heartfelt Moments as 509 Task Forces Embrace Puyagiya Village’s Next Generation in Papua

PAPUA - In a touching show of unity and commitment, the 509/Balawara Yudha Raider Infantry Battalion Task Forces under HABEMA Command brought smiles and support to the residents of Puyagiya Village in Papua’s Sugapa District. On Thursday, November 14, 2024, led by First Lieutenant Wanianto of the Holomama Post, the Task Forces engaged in Social Communication (Komsos) with villagers during a routine area protection patrol. This mission not only strengthens security but also deepens trust, reflecting the Indonesian Armed Forces' (TNI) dedication to Papua’s development.

The event turned into a joyful occasion when children from Puyagiya arrived at the Holomama Post, eager to connect with the soldiers. The troops warmly welcomed them, sparking laughter and lighthearted moments as they played games together and shared stories. The residents voiced their appreciation for the soldiers' presence, with a parent affirming that the area remains safe and peaceful. Young Ronal Tabuni expressed his gratitude to the soldiers, saying, "Thank you, Commander 509. God bless you, " a simple yet profound message of appreciation.

Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, Commander of the 509 Task Forces, emphasized the importance of balancing security with compassion.
